LARE Review Program in Rhode Island

The Rhode Island ASLA Chapter will again provide review sessions for the 16th year! In their most recent newsletter, they remind us that "The RIASLA sessions have gained the reputation of being challenging, focused, information, interactive and whenever possible, fun."

Seeking Talented Designers
LANDWORKS Studio, Inc is seeking talented designers at various levels of professional experience for full-time design and project management positions. Designers must have a minimum of two years of practical experience and be fluent in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel and 3d digital modeling (either Rhino or 3d Studio Max) and possess strong organizational and communicative skills. Candidates seeking a project management position must have a minimum of five years of practical office experience along with the above referenced skills. Special consideration will be given to portfolios that also reflect strong hand drawing, sketching, and model making skills.

LANDWORKS Studio, Inc is a landscape based design firm. Our work is focused on the exploration and development of emerging strategies and technologies of remediation and ecologically responsive design practices to the extent that they relate to the invention of meaningful landscapes within our post-industrial urban fabric. Two Full-time Openings
Shadley Associates is an award-winning and quickly growing landscape architecture practice located in a new office in Lexington Center, Massachusetts. We have an exceptionally diverse and exciting practice, with projects in New England, the Midwest and California. Current projects include large scale, Smart Growth mixed-use developments, contemporary public parks and civic spaces, historic/cultural sites, historic parks, housing, waterfronts, streetscapes and residential estates.

Shadley Associates has two full-time openings. The first is for a senior landscape architect with 8-15 years of landscape architectural practice to be a Project Manager. Strong design, hand graphics and presentation skills are required, as well as AutoCAD, construction documents and construction. Knowledge of Photoshop, MS Office and good writing skills desired.

The second opening is for a landscape architect/designer with 2-7 years experience in LA practice and a degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution. Job requirements are design development, graphic production, and creation of design and technical drawings, including details, specifications and cost estimates. Applicant should be proficient in design, hand graphics, detailing and specifications and fluent with AutoCAD, MS Office and Photoshop.

Inside:Out - Weaving Arts into the Urban Fabric -
A National Open Design Competition

The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is pleased to announce "Inside:Out - Weaving Arts into the Urban Fabric," a national open design competition that will transform the Tremont Street plaza and other public spaces surrounding the BCA, which occupies an entire city block from Clarendon Street to Berkeley Street in Boston's historic South End. The ideas phase of the competition will be open to all interested persons within the United States regardless of background or training. "Inside:Out", which has been in planning for over a year, will have a public launch in January 2006 with a "Visioning Event". Registration will open in February, five finalists will be selected in May, and the winner announced in September.
