An Evening at MIT

Come join the SENSEable City Lab and Carlos Ratti Associates for the opening of the digital_minimal exhibit on Friday, February 10, 2006 and see some of the current technological innovations in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning.

The digital_minimal exhibit will include large scale projections of several of the SENSEable City Lab's projects,
including real-time visualization of wireless nodes in Graz, Austria, as well as Sandscape, a tangible interface for modelling landscapes using interactions between digital projections and movable micro beads.

Eran Ben-Joseph, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at MIT, will give an informal presentation of Illuminating Clay and other digital tools in landscape architecture.

Topic: What will be the legacy of the digital revolution in architecture and planning? In the past few years, the academic and professional debate has focused primarily on form-making. The digital_minimal exhibition explores a number of possible future directions, from the use of mobile devices that describe urban space in real-time to new tangible user interfaces that redefine the design process.
