UCLA MBA Seeks Role with a Boston Landscape Architecture Firm

Chris Martone
310-922-6724
cmartone00@hotmail.com

Finance and marketing professional excited to contribute to a landscape architecture firm in a full-time or consulting capacity for thoughtful planning and execution of finance, operations, strategy or marketing activities. I would be delighted to discuss opportunities or simply discuss any insights into various firms in Boston.

My background includes a UCLA MBA, Boston College finance degree, nine years of small business, investment banking and finance experience, and a deep passion for landscape design.

Areas of expertise include identifying firm resources, financial management (budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, audit/tax compliance, banking), strategic planning, project management, establishing and managing strategic partnerships/referral programs and ensuring performance targets are met. A marketing (advertising, PR, promotion) or business development capacity would also be exciting.

To nurture passions for landscape design and bringing beauty to the world, I am exploring the field already through strategic consulting to a high-end landscape designer and classes in UCLA's landscape architecture program. In fact, I earned the highest marks in a 50-person design class in UCLA's program for planning and modeling the landscape of a hypothetical 1920's Montecito villa. This gave me a sense for how special it is to present clients with inspiring designs having elements that please and surprise.

Boston Landscape Architectural Firm Wins Commission to Design New Linear Park in Trinidad and Tobago

Carol R. Johnson Associates, Inc., Boston based landscape architects and environmental planners, recently won a commission to design a new linear park in Trinidad and Tobago. The park will become the focal point of the islands' new Tamana InTech Park, the first of a series of Science and Technology Parks to be built to spur an economic shift from traditional manufacturing and petrochemical industries to a more knowledge-based economy. The Science and Technology Park is being established on the former Wallerfield Aerodrome, a part of the wider Wallerfield Area of Trinidad which was developed and used as a U.S. Air Force Base during World War II. The site comprises approximately 1029 acres and, when complete, the park will be home to a projected population of 20,000 people. The Evolving TecKnologies and Enterprise Development Company Limited, better known as e TecK, will oversee the project. Harry Fuller and John Amodeo will lead the CRJA design team. Read more...

BCA Announces Finalists for Environmental Design Competition - Exhibition of Entries to be Held June 20-25

Boston, MA -- The Boston Center of the Arts (BCA) is pleased to announce the five finalists submissions for "inside::out - Weaving Arts into the Urban Fabric," a national open design competition. The winning design will transform the Tremont Street plaza and other public spaces surrounding the BCA. The BCA occupies an entire city block from Clarendon Street to Berkeley Street in Boston's historic South End. The announcement of the five finalists brings the BCA one step closer to its goal of developing a design for the surrounding public spaces that connects arts to community. "The BCA will create a distinctive public space that provides a welcoming gathering place, while inviting the public "in" to explore what this hip and historic arts complex has to offer," said President and CEO Libbie Shufro. With over 200,000 visitors annually, the BCA offers 190,000 square feet of arts space, including 20,000 square feet designated for affordable studio and office space for artists and arts organizations.
