Events University
of Massachusetts at Amherst LARP is pleased to present the spring 2007 lecture series sponsored by the Ervin Zube Endowment. This series presents nationally recognized academics and practitioners in design, planning and related fields. With generous support from Erv and Margaret Zube, alumni, students and faculty, the endowment has been established to support an annual lecture series. In the intellectual tradition of Erv Zube, the series will inspire, challenge, and inform the LARP community. Invitation to attend is extended to all students, alumni, friends and colleagues. A skill shortage of landscape architects in one area of the globe such as here in the US might be supplemented by educators and practitioners from other parts of the world. That is why educational standards, accreditation of universities, and professional licensing are international issues for the profession. Other global issues are environmental impacts, the exchange of information, and international collaboration and mentoring. The presentation will address the role of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) in these aspects.
