Harvard GSD and BSLA Sponsored Event
"Global Perspective of Landscape Architecture"
Diane Menzies, President, International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA)

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Reception to follow.
Gund Hall Piper Auditorium
Harvard Graduate School of Design

Landscape architecture, among other disciplines, is a global profession. A skill shortage of landscape architects in one area of the globe such as here in the US might be supplemented by educators and practitioners from other parts of the world. That is why educational standards, accreditation of universities, and professional licensing are international issues for the profession. Other global issues are environmental impacts, the exchange of information, and international collaboration and mentoring.

The presentation will address the role of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) in these aspects. For more information, see the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects website at: www.nzila.co.nz/dianemenzies.htm
