Database of Innovative BMPs for Public Use
The University of New Hampshire Stormwater Center is in the process of developing a database of innovative BMPs for public use in conjunction with a project supported by the Maine Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) program. This database is designed to highlight BMP strategies, such as Low Impact Development (LID) designs, implemented throughout the New England region.
The database is designed to get the word out on LID: what it is, who’s designing it and who’s implementing it in NNE. Bioretention areas, rain gardens, gravel wetlands, and pervious pavements are some of the innovative stormwater LID projects we are targeting.
This will be an excellent opportunity to highlight successful and unique projects that will benefit others considering utilizing LID initiatives in the region.
I am a resource for you. I will work with you to get the appropriate information, and take care of writing up the project. Please:
- Notify me of any LID projects that you know of in New England by sending an email to sgrosse@maine.rr.com
Please forward this request to any individual or organization that may also be able to support our efforts. You can see what is already available online at www.erg.unh.edu/lid/index.asp .

Sarah Gross, Environmental Educator
